I love watching for the moment of pure happy. That moment when the dog realizes he/she is going to be okay.

I would have just spent a little bit more time getting her used to my touch and then slipped the leash over her neck. Let her get used to that for a little bit, too, and then gently lead her out from under the car by the leash. The goal is to let her know that my physical contact isn't going to hurt her or be forced upon her. It's always worked for the dogs and cats I've rescued.

So how would you have got her out?

Sweet Cora has a Facebook page "Cora's Comeback". She seems to be doing very well. She was actually pregnant when rescued & gave birth to 3 healthy pups! It's nice to see the good in such an ugly world! God Bless people like you! This video touched my heart!!

What if her leg had been injured? You don't just grab a SCARED dog by the leg and force it out of hiding. He got lucky that she didn't put up MUCH of a fight. He could have spent a little bit more coaxing the dog out on her OWN accord instead of undoing all of his work by scaring the shit out of her with forced contact. And I have no idea how paralyzing fear can be to an abandoned dog? I've worked in a shelter for 12 years, lol. Good job on being shamelessly presumptuous.

I'm blown away that anyone can write something so stupid, truly. He was able to grab her because of the gentle work he did for two hours. When the chance presents itself, you take it. He did everything right, and the proof is her falling asleep in the front seat of their truck, instead of laying smashed against the pavement. This is a childish response from someone who has no idea how paralyzing fear can be to an abandoned dog. Thank goodness eldad and LisaMarie were there instead of WhatStef.

Things were going ok until you grabbed her leg and scared the shit out of her by dragging her awkwardly out from under the car against her will. |
