ONE WOOD FURNITURE
The bedroom is like a 'womb' which you retreat to every night so it must be cozy and conducive to rest and sleep. Of course some people do more than just sleep. They retire to the bedroom to read, watch TV, play games, study or work.
For such people the bedroom becomes the most important room in their home and its furnishing and decoration must not only be soothing and restful but also functional. For instance you may want a desk, cabinets, or work table in your bedroom, In that case the decor should be conducive to concentration - for study or for work.
But Whatever you do in your bedroom, the first step in bedroom planning is to ask yourself the following questions.
What do you really want to use the bedroom for? Is it just a room to sleep and/or make love in or do you want to read, study, or even eat in bed?
How many people will sleep in the room and who are they? Is it a master bedroom for you and your spouse, a bachelor girl or man's room, a guest room or a room for one, two, or three children?
How big is the room? The size of the room determines in large part what you can fit in comfortably.
What are tastes and preferences? Do you want to create an intimate 'boudoir' or a bright airy and sunny room? Or perhaps you've set your heart on elegant four poster bed with other period furniture.
All the above considerations are controlled by your budget. It's the amount of money you are prepared to spend that determines whether you can make structural changes to the room - for example, knock down a wall and make two rooms into one.
Its your budget that could mean your setting for a locally made bedroom suite instead of an imported one. It's best to approximate just how much you can afford right from the start so you'll know your limits when it comes to choosing furniture, fittings, and furnishings.

The Bed
That is the central focus of any bedroom. All other furniture are arranged around the bed. To know just how big is a bed you should have, you should know the dimensions of your bedroom and work according to the following mattress size:
King Size : (75 x 80) 190.5 cm x 203.0 cm
Queen Size : (60 x 80) 152.5 cm x 203.0 cm
Full/Regular : (54 x 75) 137.0 cm x 190.5 cm
Twin : (39 x 75) 99.0 cm x 190.5 cm
If you are using water bed instead of the conventional box springs and mattress, keep in mind that the standard size water bed will weigh in the region of a ton when filled with water. It may need additional floor framing support, especially if you are living in a flat.
Whatever type of bed you use, there are three minimal space dimensions that should be maintained in bed placement:
It should be 40 ins (101.5 cm) from the edge to any wall, furniture face or closet.
It should be 28 ins (71.0 cm) away from a sidewall on which no furniture is located.
Where twin bed are used parallel to one another, allow 28 ins (71.0 cm) in between.
If you go by these minimum space specification, you will have enough room to clean the floor, make the bed, open doors and drawers, dress and gain easy access to windows and closets.
